Kang Yoo A first came to the United States in 1990.
She raised two children in Minnesota. In starting her new life as a domestic violence survivor, she turned to printmaking to process her experiences at the intersection of being an immigrant, a Korean, a woman of color, and a mother. In June of 2018, Kang Yoo A launched her first exhibition, d[ae]ji: woman & land / on rising, at the Waldron Arts Center. Since then, her art has been showcased in D.C., Chicago, South Bend, and Bloomington, IN.
