Cindy Nguyen
Cindy Nguyen is a Vietnamese-American artist and environmental justice advocate from Houston, Texas.
As a young child, her love for animals inspired her to draw. As a former art student at Rice University, she participated in several student exhibitions and peer collaborative projects and actively volunteered for Houston-based art organizations. Her work has touched on topics such as her reflections on Vietnamese diasporic narratives and the impact of climate change on wildlife and human subjects. She has worked with ink, oil paint, gouache, and fabri to create illustrations and mixed media collages. For Cindy, art serves as a necessary tool for activism, community building, and healing work.
